What is a LCSW?

LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Social workers contribute to the human services field by providing holistic solutions to the social, behavioral, economic or health problems faced by their clients. This type of licensing requires an MSS/MSW degree from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program and is accredited by the National Association of Social Workers. LCSWs are licensed by state of residence to provide services to clients including diagnosing and treating mental disorders, and helping patients cope with life-changing events.

Is therapy right for me?

The simple answer is yes. Therapy can benefit anyone who wants to improve their quality of life. It’s right for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of their life by taking responsibility, creating greater self- awareness, and working towards change in their lives.

Many seek the advice of a therapist as they pursue their own personal exploration and growth. Working with a therapist can help provide insight, support, and new strategies for all types of life challenges.

Do you offer therapy online?

Actually, I only offer telehealth therapy- phone and video sessions- and have providing virtual treatment safely and conveniently offering online services since 2013. This allows for the most convenient and comfortable way to engage in treatment. I am happy to work with anyone who is a resident of Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.

What do we do in session?

We’ll meet online via video call. The link will be emailed and a calendar appointment invitation will be sent in advance of your appointment.

During our initial session, we will review your goals and get to know each other. I would also be happy to any questions you may have about the process.

Moving forward, I will follow your lead. If you are unsure of where to begin, I can help guide you based on the goal(s).

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

How often will we meet?

In the beginning, I typically meet with new clients weekly. Together, we will discuss treatment along the way and we may eventually transition to biweekly or monthly.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Do you prescribe medication?

I do not prescribe medication. I can provide you with referrals to trusted doctors and/or psychiatrists, and collaborate with them to coordinate your care.

What are the fees for your services?

My fee for individual therapy is $200 per 50 minute session, and couples therapy is $250 per 50 minute session. Extended sessions are also available (please ask about current rates).

What form of payments do you accept?

Payment is required at the time of service via automatic payment via Simple Practice. Accepted forms of payment include bank transfer, debit, and credit card.

Can you check my insurance?

I appreciate you asking, but I believe verifying your own insurance allows for you to make an informed choice about seeing me. Therefore, I'd recommend reaching out directly to your insurance provider for assistance with that.

Do you take insurance?

My services are reimbursable by many insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. I'll provide you monthly superbills (basically a fancy receipt for insurance reimbursement) to help you out!

Do you offer a sliding scale fee?

I am committed to offering the opportunity for sliding scale fees. Currently, I do not have any sliding scale sessions available. If you are looking for a lower fee for therapy, I recommend Open Path Collective.

What is your cancellation policy?

I respect your time and ask that you respect mine as well. Therefore, you can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime, as long as you provide 48 hours notice. If you cancel an appointment with less notice or fail to show up, you will be charged for the appointment. Rescheduling an appointment notice is considered a cancellation and charges will apply.

What if we’re not the right fit?

This happens and that’s really okay. Your relationship with your therapist needs to be right for you. If it’s not me, I would be happy to connect with another clinician and support your transition.
